Tips for your speed cube

To bring out the best in your magic cube, we have a few tricks to help you tune your cube correctly.

Your speed cube should be re-oiled regularly

It is important that you use silicone oil for this because other oils will damage the materials of your cube and make it brittle. Once your magic cube has been freshly oiled, it will be much easier to turn again.

The correct tension is important

The rotational resistance on most speed cubes can be individually adjusted. There are cubes where this is achieved through magnets while other cubes have screws that can be tightened or loosened to regulate tension.

Correct cleaning

To retain the grip of your speed cube, you should clean its surface once in a while. You can simply use a damp cloth and a little dish detergent. For the most part, your hands cover the cube in grease, which makes washing-up liquid with its the grease-dissolving properties perfect for the job and you don’t need any expensive cleaners. If you have a speed cube with stickers, make sure not to use too much water, or water that is too hot and always dry your cube after cleaning.
