The speed cube: One of the most popular puzzle games

The classic 3x3 cube has been one of the world’s most popular puzzle games since the 1980s. Then as now, countless people have devoted themselves to the colourful cube and, with a lot of patience, tried to solve it. A lot has happened since the invention of the cube: The mechanics have been improved, the weight has been reduced and slightly adapted colour schemes have been established. Even though today the speed cube is much smoother and faster to turn, it remains quite a brainteaser for some. A toy, which unquestionably requires a patient approach. That is why the cube is not only referred to as a puzzle game but also a game of patience. More specifically, it belongs to a group called mechanical puzzles which also includes the tangram and so-called vexiers (consisting of entangled wires or wooden spheres, for example).

Choosing an appropriate puzzle game
