Who developed the 6x6 cube?

Panagiotis Verdes patented the first 6x6 speed cube under the name V-Cube 6, still producing and selling it to this day.

The 6x6 cube has 152 coloured pieces. Those consist of
  • 96 single-coloured middle pieces which all move freely.
  • 48 two-coloured edge pieces.
  • 8 three-coloured corner pieces.
Because of the large number of cubies, the 6x6 speed cube has 1.57 x 10116 possible combinations.

6x6 cube world record holders

If you are familiar with speedcubing, then you probably know the name Max Park. He not only holds the records for the 5x5 cube and the 7x7 cube but also the records for the 6x6 cube. His fastest time for the Single Solve is 1 minute and 9.51 seconds, set in 2020. He also holds the record for Average Solve of the 6x6 cube since 2020 with 1 minute and 15.90 seconds.
